Awards

Cash gifts of $500 were given to schools in our region which had participated in chapter activities during the past several years.   The Chapter did this as one of its last acts in support of materials science, engineering, and technology education in our region.  Our hope was that the awards would be used to support student activities and promote academic achievement in areas related to materials.  This gift was also our way to thank these schools for their past participation in our activities and to, in some small way, to make up for not being here to offer our student awards programs.

The recipients (school, department, and instructor) are listed below:

bulletCity College of San Francisco, Engineering and Technology, Wendy Kaufmyn
bulletDiablo Valley College, Mechanical Technology, Dave Johnson
bulletLos Medanos College, Welding Technology, Andy Ochoa
bulletMarin College, Engineering, Erik Dunmire
