past seven years has allowed us to experiment with the Internet and to gradually
develop a resource that serves both our members, the materials community and, we
hope, helps further the goals of this department. It should be noted that
our web host has also provided many speakers for our meetings, has been an
enthusiastic participant in the University Student Awards program, and along
with the College of Engineering, has offered to host our winter seminar if we
ever want to hold it in the Central Valley. Once again, many thanks for
